Sporting events and sports brands shape how we look, how we speak, what we watch, who we hang out with. They influence our physical and mental health, they facilitate a sense of community. Put simply sports and the culture around it is for many a religion.
Even within the marketing community, sports brands are often those we hold up as our aspirational role models. The ads we remember, the store experiences we want to go to, the collabs we want to participate in.
So the next 4 years are going to be pivotal in the US. In 2026 the US will host the FIFA Soccer world cup followed 2 years later by the LA Olympics in 2028 - 2 of the biggest sporting events in the world.
